Melt Pressure
Transducer and transmitters

Gefran patented:

IMPACT sensor technology

IMPACT is the acronym for Innovative Melt Pressure ACcurate Transducer, an innovative technology for measuring the pressure of high-temperature fluids.

Extrusion / injection / blowing in the food industry

This application requires:

  • high resistance to pressure spikes
  • total absence of filling fluid
  • high noise immunity

Answer:

IMPACT series with 0-10V and 4-20mA electrical or 3.33mV/V non-amplified outputs, single mechanics and external digital Autozero function.

Advantages of IMPACT:

  • the 15-5PH steel contact diaphragm, up to 3.7 mm thick, makes IMPACT sensors at least 3 times stronger than Melt pressure sensors made with traditional filling technology (even with high pressure spikes following very fast injection cycles)
  • all IMPACT sensors are Fluid Free and compatible with European Rohs, FDA, and USDA Directives: the absence of pressure transmission fluid makes Impact sensors installable in any type of application
  • the new electronics, conforming to Namur NE21 and NE43 recommendations, ensures greater immunity from noise even on very complex machines
