IMPACT technology is based on a MEMS chip packaged into an external steel housing.
The pressure applied to a contact steel diaphragm is translated into a deflection that is transmitted to the MEMS; then the die, by 4 piezoresistors arranged in a Wheatstone bridge, transduces the deflection into an electric signal that can be routed to the electronic conditioning system to output the desired signal (0..10 V, 4..20 mA or CANOpen).
